The fourth annual CCGES Graduate Student Conference is taking place this year under the title “The Inhuman – Investigating Continental Thought in the Humanities “.

Since German unification in 1990, regional development in what was the former-East Germany has taken place in a disparate and fragmented way. An expert in regional economics and urban planning, Prof. Krätke will use his talk to examine these developments with particular attention to the situation in German-Polish border regions. On Monday, September 22md, the initial meeting of the 2008-09 Graduate Research Colloquium will take place at the Centre from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Students enrolled in the Centre’s Graduate Diploma who have not yet fulfilled this requiremed element of the program are encouraged to attend this session.
During this session, the Diploma Coordinator, Prof. Burkard Eberlein, will present the planned content for the Colloquium and offer students an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.
The second meeting of the Colloquium will take place the following Monday, October 6th at the same time and place. Regular meetings of the Colloquium will then follow at two-week intervals.
