Lecture: Urban governance and planning processes at the city fringe – The case of Baranquilla, Columbia

Dr. Florian Tim Koch

Together with the CITY Institute and York’s Centre for Research on Latin America and Caribbean, CCGES is pleased to be co-presenting a lecture by Dr. Florian Tim Koch, Professor of Urban Studies and Regional Development at the Institute for European Studies, Universidad del Norte, Baranquilla, Columbia. The lecture will take place in the context of the CITY Institute’s SuburbTalks lecture series on Tuesday, June 26 from 2-3 pm in Room 626 of the York Research Tower (building #95 on the map found here).

Dr. Koch is a Visiting Professor at UdN through the DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service and currently at CCGES as a Visiting Scholar. Florian Koch studied spatial planning in Dortmund and Rome and completed his doctorate in Social Sciences at Berlin’s Humboldt University. He was the coordinator of the spatial planning program at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. His main research areas include:  Multi-Level Governance, urban and regional studies, EU-Latin American relations and local economic development.
