Conference: Tainted Goods – Contemporary Culture and the Critique of Display Cultures in Germany and Europe, May 10-11, 2012

CCGES is pleased to be presenting this conference which will bring together Canadian and European scholars, theorists, and curators of contemporary art. The event will be made up of two parts, the first of which is a keynote lecture by Prof. Diedrich Diederichsen  on the evening of Thursday, May 10th at historic Hart House, located on the downtown St. George campus of the University of Toronto. The second element will be a one-day conference to be held at York University on Friday, May 11th.

This conference is being convened by Prof. Daniel Adler (Visual Arts/Canadian Centre for German and European Studies at York University) and Barbara Fischer (Director, Visual Studies: Curatorial Studies and Executive Director/Chief Curator of the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, University of Toronto).

The both the keynote and the conference will be open to the public, however, advance registration will be required. Details on how to register are forthcoming and will be posted here as soon as they are available.
